How to write a good TOFU post

To keep things super simple; TOFU posts attract an audience. They trigger emotional connections with people and therefore they react.

So when they react, the LinkedIn algorithm remembers that they like your content.

The next time you post something, people who liked your first (TOFU) post will often see your next post too.

So basically you gather a public for your next message.

What do you put in a TOFU post?

You need to trigger the emotions of your reader. Therefore, personal stories are the absolute best. People love to read about other people. And you know what people love even more? Transformations! Going from A to C with a bit of effort at station B.

Posting for a company? Same thing. Write about people, about successes, about cool stuff that happens along the way.

Some good transformations

  • Poor to Rich
  • Fearful to Brave
  • Unhappy to Happy
  • Unhealthy to Healthy
  • Hopeless to Hopeful
  • Outsider to Insider
  • Loner to Leader
  • etc.

DON’T

Make your TOFU post commercial. That’s not the point.

It’s about lining your audience up for your next post; the MOFU post. 

So do not end your post with a call to action.
